Frankfurt (dpa / lhe) - The Frankfurt police discovered 45 employees with a special gift in their ranks.
So-called super-recognizers can recognize the faces of suspects particularly well, even in crowds, regardless of whether they are made up, disguised or covered.
The gift is innate.
Around 1000 interested parties took part in a selection process.
45 would have made it now.
The first colleagues had already been used during the protests in the Dannenröder forest against the clearing work for the further construction of the A49, the police said on Thursday.
They were supported by a specialist from the Munich police, who had been gaining experience in this area for two years.
The so-called super recognizers had the ability to see a face only briefly and to recognize it years later among others, the police in Munich had explained.
