Düsseldorf (dpa) - After the lockdown in Germany was extended until March 7, electronics retailer Ceconomy withdrew the outlook.

The planning was fraught with additional uncertainties after this decision, announced the mother of the retail chains Mediamarkt and Saturn on Thursday in Düsseldorf.

In addition, the federal government has made the next opening step dependent on a stable infection rate (7-day incidence of a maximum of 35 new infections).

Ceconomy had recently been cautious about the forecast for 2020/21 (as of the end of September) due to the ongoing lockdown.

The company had forecast slight currency- and portfolio-adjusted sales growth.

In the previous year, the company had turned over almost 20.8 billion euros.

The adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) should increase from 236 million in the previous year to 320 to 370 million euros.
