Berlin (AP) - The Berlin Volleys have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The volleyball Bundesliga club from the capital benefited from the fact that Knack Roeselare from Belgium surprisingly won 3-0 (25:22, 25:21, 25:22) on Thursday's last matchday of Group D at LS Modena.

The inferior Italian club has the same number of wins and points compared to the BR Volleys from Group C, but with 14: 9 the worse set ratio compared to 12: 6 of the Berliners.

The volleys achieved two of their four victories without a fight and now moved into the knockout round as one of the three best runners-up from the five preliminary round groups.

The opponent will be drawn in Luxembourg this Friday.

The games of the round of the best eight will be played on February 23 and March 4.
