The Swiss Lara-Gut Behrami won the super-G of the Alpine Skiing Worlds on Thursday ahead of her compatriot Corinne Suter and the American Mikaela Shiffrin, in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy).

This is Gut-Behrami's first title in the World Championships in all disciplines.

Winner of four of the five World Cup super-Gs contested this year, she already had a silver medal (Schladming 2013) and a bronze (Saint-Moritz 2017) in this discipline at the Worlds.

The race, the first of the Worlds, took place under a bright sun after several days marked by the vagaries of the weather, which delayed the start of the events by three days.

The 29-year-old Swiss have now won six world championship medals (one gold, three silver and two bronze).

The counter of Shiffrin, who played Thursday his first super-G for more than a year, climbs him to eight medals, including five gold.
