A member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, expects the continued activity of cold winds and the formation of fog at night until the early hours of the morning, during the coming period until February 23, with the entry of the Scorpion season, which is one of the transitional seasons between winter and spring.
In winter, during the period from January to March of each year, drivers on the roads face a problem while driving, due to the low level of visibility on the roads due to the descent of fog, and accidents between vehicles due to the increase in speed and lack of commitment to safe driving during fog.
Al-Jarwan told "Emirates Today" that the Scorpion season began the day before yesterday and continues until the second of next April. It is one of the transitional seasons in which the atmosphere changes from cold to warm and the onset of heat, and includes the three stars of the Saudis: the first, "Saad Al-Dhabeh," starting from February 10 and it is an extension of the winter cold, then “Saad Swallow” starting from February 23 and moderation is evident, and finally “Saad Al-Saud” starts on the eighth of March, and the onset of warmth during the day is the dominant feature.
Al-Jarwan expected that the cold winter weather will continue during the night period during the first star period, which lasts until February 23, when the winter atmosphere prevails and the “cold winds” blow, then the time for the “cold of the old woman” who is in the winter deficit and the end of it in the second star. Finally, warm weather reigns, and "chateaux and spring turbulence" are active in the final star of the season of Scorpios.
He explained that the scorpion season was called by this name, as it was said that “the star constellation of Scorpio is at the top of the sky at dawn,” and it was said “to alternate its cold and warm stings.” And it is said, “Scorpions do not enter .. you see good boat.”
He pointed out that with the beginning of this season, the cold is waning and the winter is ready to go, so spring begins, then the pastures flourish and the flowers bloom, the bees are active, and the greenness of the land increases in the most beautiful natural images.
