Accused of rape, the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin said he was convinced Thursday on France 2 that he would "not be indicted", denouncing "slander", comparable to "the Baudis affair".

"I will not be indicted in this case," said the Minister of the Interior, questioned on the set of "You have the floor" before discussing with Marine Le Pen.

"There have been three successive court decisions," he added.

"I see that after four years, this slander does not stop," he said.

"The Baudis affair was not enough for you?" He told journalist Thomas Sotto, in reference to the late Dominique Baudis, former mayor of Toulouse, falsely implicated in the early 2000s in a moral case .

"I have no lessons to receive and moreover I wish you never to be slandered, neither you nor your family," said Mr. Darmanin.

The Home Secretary is accused by Sophie Patterson-Spatz of rape, sexual harassment and breach of trust.

The investigation was dismissed twice between 2017 and 2018.

The complainant relaunched her complaint and, after two years of procedural battle, another investigating judge has been in charge of the investigations since last summer.
