the United States, fierce criticism continues for the thesis of a Harvard Law School professor that the Japanese military comfort women are voluntary prostitutes.

However, it was confirmed that Japanese far-right historians stepped forward and sent letters to journals supporting the thesis in question when public opinion turned against them.

Correspondent Kim Soo-hyung from Washington reports.

<Reporter> This

is a letter sent by six Japanese far-right historians saying they support Professor Ramsey at Harvard Law School.

Prof. Ramsey's thesis containing historical distortions on comfort women victims was sent to the journal and its editors.

They feared that Ramsay's thesis, which will be published next month, has become the target of the recent spreading online bullying culture in the United States.

Rather than dismiss talented and conscientious scholars, fellow American scholars have asked for more active participation in Professor Ramsey's study.

This letter was sent after a critique of Professor Ramsey's thesis was published in the Harvard campus newspaper Crimson.

In the meantime, an additional editorial was published in the Harvard campus newspaper stating that the publication of Professor Ramsey's thesis aids Japan's efforts to silence comfort women victims.

[Nam Mindy/Harvard Law School Graduate (Editorial Author): Professor Ramsey's thesis fits perfectly into an organized movement (to silence the victims).

This is not an independent academic paper.]

[Joseph Choi/Harvard Law School Student (Editorial Author): What we want is for Professor Ramsey to immediately recognize history as a scholar.

I want to apologize to the people involved in the comfort women's grandmother.] Even though

Japanese scholars participated in the petition for support, it has emerged as an international controversy, but Professor Ramsey continues to remain silent.
