Last night, Sweden's regions were reached by the news that Moderna's vaccine will be delayed by two weeks and that half of the expected doses will come at a later time.

- In this case, it is the large companies that announce that they are delaying and halving deliveries.

My frustration is directed at the large companies that do not deliver what has been decided and agreed upon, says Kaisa Karro (S), regional councilor at Region Östergötland.

"Get used to it"

Infection control doctor Britt Åkerlind is not surprised.

- I think we have to get used to the fact that there will be delays, she says to SVT Nyheter Öst on Wednesday afternoon.

Region Östergötland's staff who are in charge of infection control and plan vaccinations have become accustomed to all conditions being quickly reversed.

What was planned yesterday can be re-planned today.

- When you have done a job, you almost have to do the same thing again, but with different conditions, says Åkerlind.

Once the vaccine arrives in Östergötland, Britt Åkerlind reckons that all preparations mean that the vaccine will quickly reach those who vaccinate.
