After the beginning of spring, hundreds of thousands of orchids were opened one after another in the orchid planting base of Wenyuan Village, two kilometers from the Gutian Conference site, in Gutian Town, the "Red Holy Land", Shanghang County, Longyan City, Fujian Province.

For the past few days, the Taiwanese businessman Wang Guanli and his workers have trimmed and assembled the orchids in his orchid planting base before shipping them out.

Recently, staff from Gutian Power Supply Station of Hangzhou Power Supply Company on State Grid came to the base to help check the power lines and equipment.

"Electricity is guaranteed, and orchids are full of fragrance." Wang Guanli said in an interview with a reporter from China News Agency. "Before the Spring Festival is the peak season for flower sales, orchids known as "rich flowers" are especially popular in the market."

Wang Guanli from Nantou County, Taiwan, has three generations of people engaged in orchid cultivation.

In order to expand the market, in the late 1990s, Wang Guanli and his father Wang Yongsen decided to come to the mainland to develop.

In the spring of 2000, they were attracted by the beautiful mountains and waters of Longyan, and they found their dream pastoral in Gutian Town, Shanghang County.

Twenty years have passed, and now Wang Guanli has planted more than 30 mu in Wenyuan Village, Gutian Town, with hundreds of orchid varieties.

Taking the "express train" of Gutian red tourism, Wang Guanli sells orchids to all parts of the country through online and offline marketing models.

"The changes in Gutian over the years are visible, electricity consumption has become more stable, and traffic has become more and more convenient." Wang Guanli said.

Before 2010, Gutian Town was powered by a local small hydropower enterprise. Problems such as low voltage and aging lines were prominent. The weak power grid once restricted the development of the local economy and caused Wang Guanli's orchids to "wither before it opened."

"Orchids have higher requirements for temperature. When they first arrived in Gutian, because the weather was too cold, the first batch of 200,000 orchid seedlings were all frozen to death the first night they arrived." Recalling his first experience of planting orchids in Gutian, Wang Guanli I still have lingering fears, "The voltage is unstable, and there are frequent power outages. In summer, the electric awning cannot be opened in the morning and closed at night. In winter, the orchid cannot be heated, which has a great impact on production."

In 2011, Gutian Power Grid was transferred to the Hangzhou Power Supply Company on the State Grid.

Soon, the Hang County Power Supply Company of the State Grid began a renewed transformation of the Gutian Power Grid, and the entire power supply area realized dual power supply, lighting the "street light" for the development of Gutian Town.

According to Wang Guanli, since the transformation of the power grid, the State Grid Electricity has been used and coal burning is no longer necessary.

"It can save 20,000 to 30,000 yuan (RMB, the same below) in electricity bills a year, and the flowering period is well controlled, and the flower garden is cleaner."

Under the guarantee of high-quality power supply services, Wang Guanli sells more than 200,000 orchids every year, and its annual sales have increased from more than 100,000 yuan to more than 5 million yuan.

The red land of Gutian has made the crown power a good harvest of career and love.

In 2000, he formed a small family with Zhang Lin, a girl from Henan Province. They gave birth to two sons in Gutian. The family enjoyed themselves well.

"Gutian is my second hometown. My family has lived here for a long time and has deep affection for Gutian," said Wang Guanli.
