Yesterday, the German company "Biontech" announced the start of production of its anti-virus vaccine, in partnership with the American "Pfizer", at a new factory in Marburg, Germany, in order to increase the available quantities of it, with an annual production capacity of 750 million vaccine doses.

The German company said in a statement: "We have started the first phase of vaccine production at our factory in Marburg, Hesse province."

This factory will produce, in particular, the messenger RNA (mRNA), the active ingredient in this anti-corona virus vaccine, according to the statement, which indicated that one batch of ARNM at its current size is capable of producing eight million doses of the vaccine. .

The statement added: "After the first stage of ARNM production, it is filtered and concentrated and transferred to production partners who sterilize and treat it."

This production should get the green light from the European Medicines Agency before it is distributed.

The main plant for producing quantities of this vaccine intended for European customers is currently located in Bors, Belgium.

The statement added: "Once the factory is operating at full capacity, it will become one of the largest production sites in Europe, with an annual capacity of 750 million vaccine doses."

The company "Biontech" intends to produce at this site up to 250 million doses during the first half of 2021.

The German company indicated that it will continue to work with "Pfizer" on a series of measures aimed at meeting global demand, confirming its goal of delivering one billion doses of the vaccine in 2021.
