  According to reports, the Peruvian authorities said that health officials launched the plan in the intensive care unit of the Lo Aiza Hospital in Lima, and medical staff will be vaccinated successively with the new crown vaccine developed by China National Pharmaceutical Group.

  Peruvian President Sagasti also vaccinated against the new crown later in the day.

He also mentioned, "Vaccines are the best protection."

  On January 6, 2021, Sagasti announced that Peru and China National Pharmaceutical Group have reached an agreement to purchase the new crown vaccine produced by the group.

On February 7, the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine produced by China National Pharmaceutical Group arrived in Lima, the capital of Peru.

  According to the officially announced vaccination plan, Peru will be vaccinated for free for all people in stages.

The first stage is for all front-line personnel in the fight against the epidemic; the second stage is for the elderly over 60 years of age and vulnerable groups; the third stage is for people aged 18 to 59 years old.

  Peru is experiencing the second wave of COVID-19 and the situation is grim.

Due to the surge in the number of doctors, the healthcare system is under tremendous pressure.
