Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The extension of the lockdown in Germany until March 7th has caused disappointment in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's employers' association VUMV.

"The extension of the lockdown until March 7th without any real perspective leaves many companies in despair," said the managing director of the Association of Business Associations for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (VUMV) on Wednesday evening, Sven Müller.

Müller criticized the government's actions as timid.

There would be business closures, unemployment rates would rise and society would change.

The only thing left to do on this Thursday in the Tourism and Economy Task Force in MV is to sharpen the previously available plans and align them with the time after March 7th.

According to the federal-state resolution, the restrictions are to be gradually relaxed by the states if the seven-day incidence of new infections should have fallen steadily below 35 by March 7.

Then the retail trade, museums and galleries as well as companies with body-related services should be able to reopen under specific conditions, according to the federal and state decision.

Hairdressers are an exception.

They should be allowed to open again from March 1st.
