The shock wave of the Olivier Duhamel affair shakes Science Po Paris.

The director of the institute, Frédéric Mion, presented his resignation on Tuesday, February 9 in the evening.

Students at the school accused him of having lied several times about what he knew about the actions of the political scientist and until recently president of the National Foundation for Political Science, accused by his daughter-in-law of incest on his twin brother.

When

was published on January 7, 2021, Frédéric Mion expressed his amazement.

The director of Sciences Po Paris will finally admit a little later to having been alerted to the accusations that weighed against Olivier Duhamel in 2018, by one of his teachers, the former Minister of Culture Aurélie Filipetti.

The revelations of Marc Guillaume, prefect of Île-de-France, may also have influenced his decision to resign from his post, announced Tuesday, February 9.

Marc Guillaume was questioned as part of an inspection launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, to determine the responsibilities and possible flaws of the Institute of Political Studies in this affair.

He was then a member of the board of directors of the National Foundation for Political Science, headed at the time by

Olivier Duhamel

The Ile-de-France prefect admitted to having been informed of the charges against Olivier Duhamel by Frédéric Mion himself.

Marc Guillaume then decided to leave his functions at Sciences Po Paris.

In a letter addressed to the teaching teams and to the students of the Institute, Frédéric Mion mentions errors in judgment and inconsistencies in his communication.

Facts pointed out by the provisional report of the ministry.

If he was supported by part of the management of

Sciences Po Paris

, who feared his departure in the midst of a storm, hundreds of students, teachers and employees demanded his resignation, accusing him of his multiple lies.

He had been in office since 2013.

Sciences Po already in turmoil with the hashtag #SciencesPorcs

His departure also comes when many students from Institutes of Political Studies denounce the sexual violence of which they may have been victims within the institution.

A new hash word has invaded social networks:

#SciencesPorcs

.

A contraction based on the name of the Institution in question: Political Sciences.

Since Sunday evening several hundred anonymous students have testified to acts of sexual violence.

A representative example read on Instagram tells of the rape of a student from Sciences Po Aix, and then the pressure of the administration to dissuade her from filing a complaint "

to avoid ruining the future of the young attacker

 ".

Facts that occur during student evenings, integration weekends or during associative events.

What all these voices reveal is a general tendency of the administration to minimize the words of the victims and even, in some cases, to protect the aggressors.

Impunity that no longer passes for this student generation.
