Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The brisk trade on the financial markets during the Corona crisis should have given Deutsche Börse a record year.

Analysts expect an average increase of eight percent in net sales to around 3.2 billion euros.

The profit should therefore have increased by ten percent to around 1.1 billion euros compared to the previous year.

This Wednesday (around 7 p.m.) the Dax Group will publish its results for 2020 after the stock market closes. The next day (9 a.m.), CEO Theodor Weimer and CFO Gregor Pottmeyer answer questions from journalists.

The Frankfurt market operator also benefits from acquisitions made in recent years.

In autumn 2020, Deutsche Börse secured 80 percent of the shares in US proxy adviser Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) in a multi-billion dollar acquisition.

ISS provides institutional investors with data and corporate governance services.

The CEO Weimer, who has been in office since the beginning of 2018, wants to make Deutsche Börse more independent of the strong fluctuations in these markets with acquisitions, especially outside the equity business or the associated derivatives area.
