In the last 24 hours, in the world, 431,029 infections and 15,352 deaths from Covid have been recorded by Johns Hopkins University, an increase of 119,034 cases and 7,459 deaths compared to the previous 24 hours.

If on the one hand the number of deaths returns to decidedly high levels, that of infections still remains below the half million mark.

To date, 106,902,907 have been reported since the virus appeared worldwide, of which 2,340,407 have been fatal.

The United States remains by far the most affected nation with over 460,000 victims (468,103, of which 3,170 in the last 24 hours) and 27 million infections (27.18).

In terms of infections follow: India (10.85 million), Brazil (9.59), Great Britain (3.98), Russia (3.95).

And then France (3.41), Spain which after yesterday's data collection is the third European country to have exceeded 3 million infections (3,005,487).

Still behind Italy (2.65), Turkey (2.54), Germany (2.30) and Colombia (2.16).

The situation changes if we look at the data relating to mortality.

In this case, Brazil ranks second with 233,520 deaths, while Mexico ranks third with 168,432 victims.

Also at the level of mortality behind Mexico is India (155,252) and therefore Great Britain, the first European country to have crossed the threshold of 100,000 victims (114,066 of which 1,385 yesterday), while in sixth location is Italy (92.002).

The terrible ranking continues with France, which has just exceeded the quota of 80,000 total deaths (80,295), and then with Russia (76,347).

Finally Spain with 63,061 lethal cases and Germany with 63,006.
