Velen (dpa / lnw) - They probably didn't expect that: Burglars were filmed by a wildlife camera on a campsite in Velen (Borken district).
The police released photos from the camera on Wednesday to find the perpetrators.
According to the investigators, the strangers - there were probably three of them - broke into around a dozen caravans and mobile homes ("trailers") in December.
Two of the perpetrators walked past the wildlife camera, which, according to the police, is triggered by movement and, thanks to a special technology, can take pictures at night without additional light.
The unmasked suspects therefore probably did not realize that they were being filmed.
A judge has now released the recordings for a search.
