US President Joe Biden has signed an executive order imposing sanctions on military leaders involved in the Myanmar coup.
President Biden said on the 10th local time that the Burmese military should renounce power and release state adviser Aung San Suu Kyi that he will confirm the first sanctions this week.
He also mentioned strong export controls and asset freezing, but added that he would maintain support for the medical sector.
