Berlin (dpa / bb) - Six months after a knife attack on a woman in an apartment building, the trial against a 19-year-old begins today at the Berlin district court.

The charge is attempted murder.

The public prosecutor assumes that he attacked the 32-year-old woman in order to vent.

According to the investigation, the 19-year-old should not have had any relationship with the victim.

He attacked the woman from behind in the hallway of her apartment building in the Friedrichshain district of Berlin in August 2020 and stabbed her with the intention of killing her.

The 32-year-old was seriously injured and had an emergency operation.
