Münster (dpa / lnw) - After a truck accident on a mirror-smooth roadway, Autobahn 1 near Münster has been closed.
The truck had slipped against the central barrier and came to a stop across the road, the police said on Tuesday.
In the direction of Bremen, initially nothing went between Münster-Nord and Greven.
Drivers should avoid the completely restricted area as much as possible.
The truck driver was uninjured.
A police spokesman said it will take patience until a tow truck has removed the vehicle.
The "Westfälische Nachrichten" had previously reported.
Due to heavy snowfall, there was also chaos on the A2 near Bielefeld.
Many people had been stuck in their vehicles in the freezing cold on the closed route since Monday afternoon.
