Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Because of the onset of winter, rail commuters and other travelers in Hesse have to be prepared for train cancellations and delays.
In long-distance traffic, the Kassel junction is particularly affected, as Deutsche Bahn announced on Tuesday morning.
They are working flat out to clear the main stretches of snow and ice.
There are also disabilities in regional traffic.
According to the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund, for example, on the lines RB5, RE5, RE30 and RE98 around Kassel, cancellations and delays can occur.
In several districts there are also problems in bus traffic, for example in the Wetterau district.
Rail connections between Hamburg and Frankfurt or Berlin and Frankfurt are affected by the restrictions on long-distance traffic.
Delays are expected throughout the day.
The railway advises all travelers and commuters who cannot postpone their journey to check their connection before the planned departure.
