Markranstädt (dpa / sn) - A telephone fraudster brought an 80-year-old woman from Markranstädt near Leipzig to a five-figure amount.
As the police announced on Tuesday, the stranger called the senior citizen several times since the end of December and pretended to be an employee of the pension insurance.
He told her about a competition.
For the payment of the supposed profit, he demanded the transfer of alleged fees.
The 80-year-old transferred a total of a low five-digit amount.
Only then did she ask the pension insurance company and recognize the fraud.
She filed a complaint.
