Reuters quoted 3 informed sources as saying that the US administration is looking at a set of ideas to revive the Iran nuclear deal concluded in 2015, including Washington and Tehran taking small steps without fully adhering to the agreement, in order to gain time.

The agency added that this option may involve Washington providing economic concessions to Tehran of value, less than the sanctions relief stipulated in the 2015 agreement, in exchange for Iran halting or perhaps reversing its violations of the agreement.

The sources stated that US President Joe Biden has not yet decided his policy towards Iran, and his declared position remains that Iran will resume its full commitment to the nuclear agreement, before the United States does the same.

Blinken permit

In a related context, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that his country will return to the Iran nuclear deal, if Tehran abides by its commitments contained in the agreement.
