A resident of Champagne at Mont d'Or, near Lyon, who died in 2019, bequeathed her heritage to this city where she has lived most of her life and worked as a social worker.

which reports this story on Tuesday, the town hall has inherited more than 420,000 euros, consisting of two houses, small land and jewelry.

When writing her will fifteen years ago, Denise Courteuge Thomas had indicated that her money was to be used for social assistance in the town and more particularly for the elderly.

A place in his name?

Champagne-au-Mont-d'Or being endowed with a brand new seniors' residence, this bequest will be intended for the communal social action center and the household help mobilized with the elderly to allow them to stay as long as possible in their home, said the town hall questioned by the daily.

The municipality plans to give the name of this generous inhabitant to a place in the municipality.
