09 February 2021Hard fight against crime in several Italian cities.

Since the early hours of dawn, the state police have been carrying out 160 pre-trial detention orders in six separate operations throughout the country.

Over 750 agents engaged.

The complex investigations coordinated by the Central Operational Service of the Central Anti-Crime Directorate made it possible to hit several criminal organizations hard.



In detail, there are 80 arrests in progress in Rome, Salerno and Milan against members of various criminal groups operating in those territories, dedicated to the massive sale of drugs.

At the same time, in Reggio Emilia and Catania, there are 70 precautionary measures against those responsible for crimes against property, thefts and robberies.

Finally, in Lecco a mafia organization made up of members of the Calabrian 'Ndrangheta operating in Lombardy was disrupted;

there are 10 catches in progress for mafia-type criminal association.



Prefect Francesco Messina, Central Anti-Crime Director of the State Police, stated that all the investigative structures of the State Police - Mobile Squads, Crime Prevention Departments and Central Operations Service, in synergy with the Judicial Authority - are constantly engaged in monitoring criminal phenomena in order to be able to identify and neutralize them.
