Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Daycare centers and schools will be the “decisive topic” in the federal-state consultations on Wednesday, according to the Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Armin Laschet (CDU).
The debate about daycare centers and schools was “neglected” in the fight against the corona pandemic, said the CDU federal chairman on Tuesday in a special session of the state parliament in Düsseldorf.

Most of the schools have been closed for weeks in the nationwide lockdown.

Further openings are currently not conceivable, said Laschet.
It is important that the talks between the heads of government of the federal states and Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) on Wednesday achieve “national uniformity”.
He did not think it would be wise if 16 prime ministers decided in advance in their state parliaments, said Laschet with a view to several proposals from the states for step-by-step plans in dealing with the pandemic.
