Parliament validated the extension of the state of health emergency until June 1 to deal with the coronavirus epidemic.

This exceptional regime allows in particular travel restrictions that can go as far as confinement of the population. 

Parliament validated Tuesday, by a final narrow vote of the Assembly, the extension of the state of health emergency until June 1 in the face of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The deputies adopted the extension bill with 278 votes in favor, 193 against and 13 abstentions.

Left and right have spoken out against maintaining this exceptional regime for an additional three and a half months, which notably allows travel restrictions, if necessary until the population is confined.
