Isolated, hampered, frustrated, shaken, confused, depressed, anxious, impoverished.

But also: combative, rebellious, resilient, united, resourceful, creative, inventive.

So many adjectives that can qualify the youth of the world, confronted like other generations with the

Covid-19

epidemic

, but in a very specific dimension: the feeling of being sacrificed in the name of a public health imperative.

While the disease kills very few people under the age of 30.

High schools and universities closed, internships prohibited, sluggish job market, places for parties or meetings inaccessible: nothing was done at the start of the decade for high school students, students, young workers placed before the precipice of a repetitive life , cut off from what made the salt of those years when everything was theoretically possible.

Even the impossible.

Even the dangerous.

Valves closed

Having to study at a distance, alone in front of a computer or a cell phone, is a trauma for many.

Being deprived of odd jobs that allow you to see life a little more rosy and to confront the first realities of professional life is another.

The economic horizon is hazy.

And the valves that can be cultural or sporting activities have closed with the various confinements.

When we add to it, in some countries, the disapproving look of the oldest people worried about seeing a part of this youth not to respect to the letter these same confinements and barrier gestures, there is enough to lose his bearings and sink, for them. more fragile, in despair.

Fortunately, despite the astonishment at an unprecedented situation, initiatives are emerging to help this “Covid generation”.

Food solidarity for the most deprived, psychological support (including via social networks), help in finding internships or jobs.

It will be said that the youth of 2021 will not give up in the face of a virus that will not leave anyone unscathed.
