Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - After the fire in a large Nuremberg power plant, there are problems with district heating in individual parts of the city.

The power plant had been temporarily decommissioned, announced the energy supplier N-Ergie on Tuesday morning in Nuremberg.

The heat supply for individual customers must be temporarily throttled.

The districts of Röthenbach and Gebersdorf are affected.

In addition, the supplier asks all customers on the Nuremberg district heating network to reduce their heating and hot water requirements to a minimum despite the low outside temperatures.

That could help limit the bottleneck.

The cause of the fire in the large power plant of the operator Uniper on early Monday evening is still unclear, said the fire department.

The size of the damage caused cannot yet be quantified.

According to previous information, there were no injuries.

After almost three hours, the fire was extinguished around 8 p.m.

A total of around 120 firefighters were on duty.

According to the information, the power plant is primarily operated with gas and, if necessary, also with oil.
