Hanover (dpa / lni) - In view of the corona pandemic and the lockdown in Germany, the Eurotier farm animal husbandry fair is going completely digitally this year.

Federal Minister of Agriculture Julia Klöckner (CDU) opens the fair this morning (11.00 a.m.).

More than 1400 exhibitors want to present themselves online and multimedia to the specialist audience by February 12th.

In addition to technology and advice for animal husbandry, it also covers topics from the field of animal breeding, but also processing and marketing.

The EnergyDecentral trade fair will also take place at the same time, with the focus on innovative energy supply.

Around 200 exhibitors present themselves here.

With biogas and photovoltaic systems, farms are among the most important investors in the field of renewable energies in Germany.

According to the organizer, the German Agricultural Society (DLG), digital platforms will in future be a permanent addition to DLG's presence fairs in Hanover.

Both trade fairs were originally planned for last November in the capital of Lower Saxony.
