Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - The entrepreneur Otto Barth wants to permanently set up a Ferris wheel on the banks of the Rhine in Wiesbaden - and thus give the state capital another tourist attraction.

A location in the immediate vicinity of Biebrich Castle is planned.

"That would be a great opportunity for Wiesbaden," said the showman on Tuesday of the German press agency.

He wants to lease or buy the land for this from the city.

According to his representation, the ferris wheel could already be built in 2022 or 2023.

However, it is still unclear whether it will be as big as the model in London.

"Size doesn't matter," said Barth.

After all, Barth knows his way around rides: he runs the “Taunus Wunderland” amusement park in Schlangenbad (Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis) and last summer he set up a 50-meter-high Ferris wheel on the banks of the Rhine in Eltville in the Rheingau.

On Tuesday evening, the showman wanted to present his plans to the Biebrich local advisory board.

The newspapers of the Mainz media group «vrm» reported on the project.
