At the health center Bra liv hälsan 2 in Jönköping, they have become aware of at least two cases of attempted fraud.

One of the victims later realized that something was wrong and was helped by a relative to block their accounts.

The other victim asked to call back, which led to the caller hanging up.

- The caller urges the elderly to provide the login information to their bank ID in order to book vaccination against covid-19, says Marie Sigfridsson, operations manager at the health center Bra Liv Hälsan 2 in a press release.

May be more vulnerable

She fears that there may be more who have fallen for the fraudsters.

- I think that there may be more people who have experienced this, says Marie Sigfridsson, but many are ashamed that they have been deceived and do not report the fraud.

I am upset that the elderly are being deceived, but I am also worried that these attempts at fraud will make up for it for us when we offer residents vaccination times.

The Jönköping region now wants to clarify that the vaccinations against covid-19 are free and that the health centers never request e-identification or swish payments in conversations about vaccination times.

The elderly, who are to be vaccinated during phase 2 (persons born in 1956 or earlier), will receive information in a letter about how the vaccination booking is made.
