Three people were placed in pre-trial detention as part of an investigation into a narcotics trafficking network in Aubagne, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, said Marseille prosecutor Dominique Laurens.

On February 3, three suspects were arrested, accused of "carrying out, on the same day, an armed commando action of show of force" in a city of Aubagne "already affected by violent actions linked to Marseille narcobanditism".

“A fourth individual suspected of providing logistical support to criminals was taken into custody,” said the public prosecutor.

On February 4, six other people were arrested and four detainees were extracted, the prosecution added in its statement.

This investigation was opened after the discovery on October 12, 2020, in a city of the 14th arrondissement, of three assault rifles and a shotgun in two stolen and falsely registered vehicles abandoned on the public highway.
