After the Second World War, during the early 50's, they switched to letting everyone get school food.

School food has affected the food served at home since then, because parents usually cook what the children want, says Richard Tellström.

For example, sausage Stroganoff was invented for the school, but has since entered most Swedish homes.

In the 70's we usually only ate one hot meal a day, while today we often eat both cooked hot lunch and dinner.

During the late 80's and early 90's, large salad tables came to the school canteens, with fresh vegetables instead of pickled.
