Hof (dpa / lby) - Tire tracks in the snow have betrayed the cause of an accident in Hof in Upper Franconia.

On the Bundesstrasse 15 on the outskirts of Hof, police officers saw a badly dented car with a crack in the rear window, as the police announced on Monday.

Because it had snowed shortly before, the police only had to follow the tire prints on the street on Sunday evening.

According to the information, this led to a truck.

This had dents that exactly matched the damage to the apparently rammed car.

The truck's tachograph showed that the driver had previously taken a break at the scene of the accident.

The 58-year-old driver is now being investigated.
