- It is only the imagination that sets limits, says principal Marcus Hedström.

The principal is happy to be the grill master

He himself does not mind wearing the apron and acting as a chef at the theme days so that the students get the "little extra" for school lunch.

- If you are going to work here as principal then you must also be able to at least put on an apron and turn some burgers for really fun it usually is, the last time we grilled for 700 students in the schoolyard says Marcus Hedström.

Previously worked as a chef

The principal at Tunaskolan has a past as a chef and says that he is still passionate about this with food, even though he is now in a school instead of a kitchen.

And he emphasizes in the first place that he wants the students to feel joy around the school food because then that feeling spreads naturally in the rest of the school environment.

- Food is important and should be linked to something that is fun, I think, and without mentioning any numbers, it is worth all the money.

And schools get money to be able to invent things in areas and then we have chosen to prioritize pieces like this, says Marcus Hedström.

But isn't there a risk that you will pay attention to the restricted tones when trying to do that little extra?

- There is certainly a risk and that is the kind of thing you have to risk assess properly before doing this stuff and we have both the union and the safety representatives.

It is possible?

And some things we do not do.

For example, we have gone to kåbdalis and held food events in recent years, but we do not do that now because we do not get on buses during the pandemic, says Marcus Hedström.
