Since 2017, Tina Thörner has been involved in the International Motorsport Federation's investment in climate-smart driving in the FIA smart driving challenge project.

The concept is about driving as economically and safely as possible and is designed as a competition where points are registered with an app connected to the driver's car.

Stars participate

The investment is global and in 2020 attracted thousands of everyday drivers from over 25 countries to participate and in the project, other motorsport stars such as Sébastien Ogier, Oliver Solberg and Johan Kristoffersson have also lined up as poster names and so-called team leaders.

Now Tina Thörner takes the concept to Karlstad and the municipality's home care service, where more than 450 employees will be trained and then compete to see who drove the smartest.

First in the world

Karlstad will be the first municipality in the world to make this type of investment, according to the municipality.

- We hope that the staff will feel safer in their driving and that we reduce emissions, says Christian Holm Barenfeld (M), chairman of the care and welfare committee.

In the clip above, Tina Thörner, Christian Holm Barenfeld and Sebastian Cisterna, employed in the home care service in Karlstad, tell more about the project and what expectations they have.
