Tampa (AP) - After his seventh Super Bowl triumph, superstar quarterback Tom Brady has been named the most valuable player of the finals (MVP) of the National Football League.

The 43-year-old received the award for his strong performance in the 31-9 victory of his Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Kansas City Chiefs.

For Brady it was already the fifth MVP trophy in the Super Bowl - this is an NFL record, along with his seven wins.

"I'm so proud of the boys," he said.

"We are world champions forever, nobody can take that away from us."

The most successful player in football history made 21 of his 29 passes to his teammates in the NFL final, threw three touchdowns and did not make a mistake to the opponent.

"You're a legend," said Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the field with appreciation.
