Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Berlin CDU parliamentary group has warned against jeopardizing previous successes by relaxing the corona measures early.

At the same time, in a strategy paper, it calls for a “roadmap that describes the requirements for an orderly return to approximately“ normal ”social and economic conditions”.

With a view to the federal-state consultations on Wednesday, parliamentary group leader Burkard Dregger announced on Monday that it had to be possible to finally create a reliable and lasting perspective.

First the “Berliner Morgenpost” (Sunday) reported on the strategy paper.

The goal is the lowest possible seven-day incidence by the end of February, it said.

The value of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week is the wrong hope, warned Dregger.

"We take suggestions from science very seriously and advocate a step model for target incidences between 10 and 20."

Dregger criticized that the prime ministers, including Berlin's governing mayor Michael Müller, thwarted Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) in October with consistent measures.

"We appeal to the governing mayor not to repeat this mistake of hesitation in the upcoming federal-state conference on virus containment."

Heiko Melzer, Parliamentary Managing Director of the CDU parliamentary group in Berlin, said that gritting your teeth to regain freedom is always better than shimmy from lockdown to lockdown.

"Acting consistently now means that we control the virus, not the virus control us."

Melzer spoke out in favor of opening schools and daycare centers first as soon as this was permanently responsible.
