As a result of the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations on using mouth guards in, for example, public transport or in case of congestion, there has been more rubbish in public places.

It is not only at train stations, bus stops and outside the shops that litter has increased but also at the municipality's outdoor gym.

- We have not received an increased number of reports of errors, but we notice that a new kind of rubbish has appeared, says Elisabeth Sundgren.

No widespread problem

Many municipal residents have contacted us on SVT and believe that more bins are needed, but Vellinge municipality does not agree.

- We have a joint responsibility for this and we also have the knowledge that rubbish breeds rubbish, so if it has ended up on the ground, we would like to clean it away so that it does not become so that here it is okay to throw rubbish, says Elisabeth Sundgren.

The municipality of Vellinge has also not taken any extra protection measures for those who clean the municipality's public places, but believes that they already have sufficient protection to not be infected by the corona garbage themselves.
