Hanover (dpa / lni) - Due to snow and cold, many trains in Lower Saxony's regional traffic are canceled on Sunday morning.

Among other things, the entire S-Bahn traffic in Hanover is to stand still until around 10 a.m., announced the Deutsche Bahn.

Traffic in the Harz-Weser network is also expected to be out in the morning.

Trains with stops in Braunschweig, Göttingen, Nordhausen, Bad Harzburg or Salzgitter-Lebenstedt are affected.

There were several train cancellations at Deutsche Bahn that night.

Connections to and from Hameln, Hildesheim, Nienburg and Celle were affected.

In advance, the Deutsche Bahn had canceled several long-distance connections in northern Germany due to weather conditions, including the Intercitys from Bremen to Norddeich Mole.

Also on the NordWestBahn, the connections between Osnabrück and Wilhelmshaven were canceled on Sunday morning due to the weather.

Due to frozen points, the metronome route between Hanover and Göttingen cannot be used on Sunday morning.

At the Erixx railway company, the connection between Bad Harzburg and Hanover via Goslar is initially canceled.
