Hamburg (dpa / lno) - A 57-year-old man with a ventilator sustained severe burns while smoking in Hamburg and died a little later.
The man had a device with medical oxygen with him when he lit a cigarette on Saturday evening in the Hamburg district of Lurup, as a police spokesman reported on Sunday morning.
In combination with the oxygen, there was then a deflagration.
The 57-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital under resuscitation conditions, the spokesman said.
There he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday night.
