Kiel (dpa / lno) - Second division soccer team Holstein Kiel is satisfied with the Rot-Weiss Essen draw in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup.

«We are looking forward to the quarter-finals in Essen under floodlights.

That's something special, ”said coach Ole Werner.

"Two of the surprises of this year's competition come together."

Werner's team followed the draw in the ARD sports show on Sunday in a Düsseldorf hotel.

The Kiel decided on Monday evening at Fortuna Düsseldorf the 20th matchday of the 2nd division.

Finn Porath was also able to make friends with the lot.

"We have a huge opportunity to get to the semifinals - and we just want to seize it," said the 23-year-old offensive player.

The game in Essen will take place on March 2nd or 3rd.

Regional division Rot-Weiss Essen had thrown Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen out of the race in the round of 16.

The Kieler prevailed on penalties against league rivals Darmstadt 98.
