Mexico's Tigres surprised by winning 1-0 over Brazilian Palmeiras and qualifying for the Club World Cup final on Sunday, in his first participation in the tournament.

French striker André-Pierre Gignac scored the match’s only goal from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, bringing his tally to 3 goals in the tournament after he scored twice in the 2-1 victory over South Korean Ulsan.

The Mexican team, which won its first CONCACAF Champions League title, will await the winner of the other semi-final match between Bayern Munich and Egypt's Al-Ahly.
