Oldenburg (dpa) - The EWE Baskets Oldenburg have clearly lost the top game in the basketball Bundesliga.

The baskets lost to MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg 75:89 (31:53) on Sunday.

With a record of 15-1 victories, the runner-up from Ludwigsburg remains at the top of the table, for the hosts it was the third defeat of the season.

Outstanding Ludwigsburg was Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann with a career record of 23 points.

The guests got off to a better start and were clearly in the lead after just under seven minutes (17: 7).

Ludwigsburg was quicker to act, hardly allowed any free points on the defensive and increased the lead to 22 points by the break.

As a result, Oldenburg did not give up and fought their way back into the game, but the Lower Saxony did not come closer than nine points.

The Löwen Braunschweig ended their five-game defeat series and defeated ratiopharm Ulm thanks to a strong second half with 94:92 (46:54).

The Lions played their first game in two weeks after the team was quarantined because of a positive corona test.
