Rostock (dpa / mv) - The downward trend in the infection process with the corona virus continued on Sunday in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) reported 82 new infections after 91 on Sunday last week.

155 new cases were reported on Saturday.

The number of people who have died of or with the virus in MV since the beginning of the pandemic rose by nine to 553.

The seven-day incidence decreased slightly from 84.0 on Saturday to 83.9 on Sunday.

A week ago it was 90.4.

On Sundays and Mondays, the number of infections usually goes down compared to the previous days, because there is generally less testing on the weekend.

In the worst affected district of Vorpommern-Greifswald, the incidence value rose since Saturday from 205.8 on Saturday to 211.4.

The city of Schwerin is in second place with 110.8 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days (Saturday: 109.8).

According to Lagus, the value is lowest in the city of Rostock with 32.0 (Saturday: 35.9) as well as in the districts of Western Pomerania-Rügen with a constant 40.5 and Northwest Mecklenburg with 42.6 (Saturday: 43.9).

The other counties are above the warning value of 50, but below 90.

The total number of corona infections detected in MV is 21,288;

17,956 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics rose by 24 to 406 compared to Saturday. The number of those in intensive care units fell by three to 75.
