The administrative justice recognized the State "responsible" for failures in the fight against global warming.

Guest of the “Grand Rendez-vous” on Europe 1 on Sunday February 7, MEP Yannick Jadot hailed the “victory of citizen mobilization”.

At the same time, according to him, this court decision is "also a failure. Because the government is not doing enough."

INTERVIEW

The state is "responsible" for failures in the fight against global warming, said administrative justice on Wednesday.

A decision hailed as "historic" by the NGOs which attacked France for its inaction, supported by the "Affaire du siècle" petition, signed by more than 2.3 million citizens.

Invited on the set of the Grand Rendez-vous on Europe 1, Sunday February 7, the MEP EELV returned to this court decision, which he said was a "victory."

"A victory because there was an extraordinary citizen mobilization, so it is a victory for citizen mobilization. And that justice recognize the absolute need to fight against climate change up to the challenge," explains t -he.

"We are not up to the challenge of climate change"

But this condemnation of the State for climate inaction is "also a failure", deplores Yannick Jadot.

"It means that the government is not acting enough. That, in fact, we are not up to climate change", explains the elected official.
