The French skipper Romain Attanasio (Pure-Best Western) completed the Vendée Globe on Saturday in 14th place, in 90 days, ten more than the winner Yannick Bestaven (Maître Coq IV).

Attanasio, who took 15th place four years ago for his first solo round-the-world participation without stopover and without assistance, completed this navigation around the globe, by the three capes, in 90 days 2 hours and 46 minutes.

The companion of the Briton Samantha Davies, forced for her part to abandon, was not spared by the technical problems on a 13 year old boat.

The next sailor expected at Les Sables d'Olonne is the Japanese Kojiro Shiraishi (DMG Mori Global One), 1,347.4 miles (2,494 km) from the finish in the classification on Saturday at 18h00 (17h00 GMT).

In total, 11 boats are still in the race.
