Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - In two accidents on the A6 near Mannheim, three people were injured on Friday evening, one of them seriously.

Initially, the trailer of a car transporter caught fire due to a technical defect.

The driver of the van noticed the fire on Friday evening and stopped his vehicle on the hard shoulder.

Shortly afterwards, the trailer that had loaded three brand-new cars caught fire.

There was a total damage of around 300,000 euros.

A few hours later there was a rear-end collision with two cars at the height of the ongoing rescue measures in the opposite direction.

A 29-year-old driver braked.

The vehicle of the driver caught fire.

The driver of the front car and his passenger were slightly injured.

The other driver was taken to hospital, seriously injured.
