Bad Langensalza (dpa) - The handball players of the Thuringian HC also lost their second game in the group stage of the European League.

Against Storhamar Handball Elite, the team of trainer Herbert Müller lost on Saturday afternoon despite a courageous performance with 30:32 (14:14).

The best throwers of the THC were Kerstin Kündig and Marketa Jerabkova with seven hits each.

Three days after the surprising 33:30 victory in the Bundesliga against the title contender SG BBM Bietigheim, the Thuringians also met the Norwegian top team at eye level.

After a well-balanced, hard-fought first half, the THC even managed to break away in the second half by 21:16 (37th minute) before Storhamer developed more and more penetrative power in the attack.

In the final phase, the game finally tipped over because the Norwegians had the greater reserves of strength.

The second leg will take place tomorrow, Sunday (12 noon) and will also take place in the Salza-Halle.
