China News Agency, Moscow, February 5 (Reporter Wang Xiujun) The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on its website on the 5th that for participating in an unauthorized and illegal assembly in Russia, a number of diplomats in Russia from Sweden, Poland, and Germany were arrested. A person declared unwelcome and required to leave the country in the near future.

According to sources, diplomats from the Consulate General of Sweden and Poland in St. Petersburg participated in the illegal assembly in St. Petersburg on January 23, and diplomats from the German Embassy in Moscow participated in the illegal assembly in Moscow on the same day.

Their participation in illegal gatherings is unacceptable and does not conform to their status as diplomats.

According to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the above-mentioned persons were declared unwelcome persons and were required to leave China in the near future.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova said on the same day that the Russian Foreign Ministry had summoned representatives of the embassies of Sweden, Poland and Germany in Russia and hoped that the diplomats of the three countries would strictly abide by the norms of international law and the laws of the host country.

On January 23, people in various cities in Russia held demonstrations and rallies to protest the arrest of Russian opposition activist Navaline by the Russian authorities.

The Russian government stated that these gatherings were illegal and without approval.

In August last year, Navariny was suspected of being poisoned and was sent to Germany for treatment.

Laboratories in Germany, France, Sweden and other countries subsequently confirmed that Navalny had been attacked by "Novichok" nerve agents.

But the Russian government denied this.

On January 13 this year, Navalny, who was in Germany, announced through social networking sites that he would return to Russia on January 17.

The Moscow General Administration of the Russian Federal Punishment Enforcement Agency stated on January 14 that during 2020, Navalny had repeatedly violated the probation regulations and had been included on the wanted list.

On the 17th, Navalny, who returned to Russia, was detained at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
